Out in Kinston, NC for the evening taking in the Chef and the Farmer restaurant of PBS fame.
Best meal I’ve had at that price point pretty much ever.
Beer I had was very good. Second beer I’ve had in a week that said it had almonds that I couldn’t really make out. I don’t know if I’m blind to the taste (the nuts taste bland to me) or if it just wasn’t very pronounced.
The beer pours dark brown with a tan head. It has a silky mouthfeel and is balanced between the malt and hops. It has a smooth roasted vanilla flavor with hints of earthy hops. A rather delicate stout that was easily overpowered by the rich food.
